Death at Home

HOME / ABOUT US

When a loved one passes away in their own home and the death is expected, the process is
dependant on the time of day.

If your loved one has passed away in the day you should contact their usual GP and surgery to inform them of the passing, The doctor may or may not visit to confirm death but they will advise you if it is appropriate to contact a funeral director.

When the doctor has given their permission we can arrange to move your loved one to our own chapels of rest.

If your loved one has passed away in the evening or at night the process is similar but as opposed to contacting your loved ones GP or surgery you should contact the NHS helpline. They will then dispatch a district nurse to confirm your loved ones passing.

At all times you will be advised on what to do and when it is appropriate to contact a Funeral Director, once we have been contacted wewill convey the dec’d to our private chapels of rest.
