Direct Burial Service
HOME / ABOUT US
A Simple and Peaceful Option
A direct funeral service, also known as a simple or unattended service, offers a dignified and cost-effective alternative to traditional funerals. It focuses on the essential elements of honouring a loved one without the formalities and expenses associated with a larger ceremony. Due to our heritage, we still feel it appropriate to approach any service the same and therefore many of the arrangements afforded to more traditional services can still be included and implemented in a direct service, wether that may be visiting your loved one in the chapel of rest or choosing a piece of music to honour your loved one as the committal rites are read.
Direct funerals are becoming increasingly popular for a variety of reasons, some people prefer a simpler and more personal way to say goodbye. The cost savings can be significant, especially for those on a tight budget. It is not just direct burial services that are available but direct unattended burials.
Direct funerals can be a compassionate and dignified way to honour a loved one. They offer a simple and affordable option for those who want to focus on what truly matters: remembering and celebrating the life of the person who has passed away.
Please remember though, a direct funeral does not mean you can’t have a memorial service or other way to celebrate the life of your loved one. It’s important to discuss your wishes with your family and friends beforehand so they understand your preferences. It is also no less respectful than a traditional service, everyone is unique.
An E White & Son Direct Funeral Service provides the following:
The conveyance of your loved one into our care and the performance of first offices and provision of the chapels of rest.
The initial meeting with your funeral director to discuss and plan arrangements, guide you through the process and attend to all relevant legal paperwork.
The provision of a “Conway” veneered oak coffin with accompanying fixtures, fittings and engraved nameplate, lined and frilled internally.
The provision of a Jaguar Hearse or Ford Hearsette to convey your loved one on their final journey to the cemetery.
Your funeral directors attendance on the day of the service to oversee the funeral service and ensure both your loved ones and your wishes are implemented.
